"Earth Day Fair in Chewelah"

Celebrate Spring, kick off the gardening season, learn to live green and feed the hungry at the Earth Day Fair in Chewelah on April 25,26 and 27.

Friday, April 25: Food Giveaway, 10a.m. to noon-free food for all, no matter where you live:NO Limit, NO strings attatched, NO need to be a food bank client. Includes free lunch and clothing bank. Sponsored by 2nd Harvest, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Chewelah Food Bank, St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Saturday, April 26: Craft Fair That Cares, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.- free. Browse and buy from crafters, growers, farmers, and earth-friendly vendors. Learn to be green from environmental organizations and agencies. Free pancake breakfast, biscuits n'gravy, chili and hot dogs for all! Free fun kids activities and Earth Day crafts.

Friday and Saturday events will be held "creekside" at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, N. 202 2nd St. W., Chewelah. For more information, call Mary Finney, 509-935-7145 or email naturwks@theofficenet.com.

Sunday, April 27: Golf Tournament, noon at the Chewelah Golf and Country Club. Silent auction, mulligans, string, and hole sponsorships benefit the Chewelah Food Bank. $35 entry fee includes dinner and a bucket of practice balls.

Last year's Earth Day Fair attracted over 50 vendors and exhibitors and more than 1500 attendees. While the event was free to the public, donations, auctions, and the golf tournament raised almost $3,000 for the Chewelah Food Bank!
